Adjustable 3D terrain exaggeration

Would it be possible to add terrain exaggeration in the 3d view? Some of us east coasters do not have the vertical prominence that can be seen out west and some of our hills barely show up when in 3d mode. Wondering if it could be added as a slider like opacity is for other layers?
